What you need to know today: In the last two months, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has noticed a surge in teenagers being hospitalized for COVID-19. Although it was believed early on in the pandemic that children and teenagers were potentially not as vulnerable as adults, the uptick in hospitalizations has the CDC urging parents to get their children vaccinated. With 6,138 tests reported, 1.8% were positive.
