What you need to know: Nearly all of the new deaths related to COVID-19 in the U.S. are among the unvaccinated, according to an Associated Press analysis.

About 150 of the more than 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May were fully vaccinated people, translating to about 0.8%, or five deaths per day on average.

South Carolina health officials reported 158 total cases of the coronavirus on Friday (88 confirmed, 70 probable), with 13 confirmed deaths.

With 9,454 tests reported Friday, 2.6% were positive.
