The Pass ~ Panino & Provisions opened its doors on Thursday, the new downtown eatery announced on Instagram. Run by Philadelphia native Anthony Marini, The Pass will serve gourmet sandwiches, grain bowls and more Wednesday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the corner of Spring and St. Philip streets in the space previously occupied by Poke-San.
“The Pass is Cannonborough-Elliotborough’s locally focused deli and market, offering sandwiches, salumeria trays of meat, cheese and seafood and unique provisions,” according to its website.
Guests can expect hearty sandwiches — which can be turned into salad or grain bowls — like the corned beef short rib “Jesus Chris” on rye bread or the “LT oh no,” a combination of roasted turkey, beer mustard, Duke’s mayonnaise, relish and housemade pickles on white bread.
At night, The Pass will transform into an eight-course tasting counter for 6-12 guests. Reservations for the chef’s table will become available in September, Marini told the City Paper.
