As the summer draws to a close, so does CARTA’s Beach Reach shuttle. The Mount Pleasant-to-Isle of Palms line has been in operation since Memorial Day, and will wind down its service after Labor Day weekend.

Shuttles run every hour on the hour, 9:15 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The Beach Reach shuttle has been fare-free for riders throughout the summer thanks to contributions from the Town of Mount Pleasant and the City of Isle of Palms.

With the shuttle as a transportation option for beachgoers, the stress about traffic and parking is out of the conversation. As with all CARTA vehicles, the shuttle is wheelchair-accessible so that everyone can use the service.

The stop is located at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre near the Belk men’s store, and parking is available nearby for easy access. Connections are available between routes 40 and 42 as well as the Shuttle. It is recommended to arrive at your stop at least five minutes before the shuttle is scheduled.

For safety issues, passengers are limited on what can be brought onboard the vehicle. Face masks are required on all CARTA vehicles.
