The Charleston Beer Fest (CBF) will return for its 10th annual festival Sat., Oct. 9 after the 2020 event went virtual due to the pandemic. More than 30 craft breweries from Charleston to California will gather at Riverfront Park from 1-7 p.m. for a suds-filled afternoon benefiting nonprofit Palmetto Community Care.
“After having to postpone the festival last year due to the pandemic, we couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to showcase and support these outstanding breweries, while having a great time raising money for a worthy cause,” said Palmetto Community Care executive director Bradley Childs.
The festival will feature live music, food trucks and, of course, the “Homebrewers’ Village,” where locals will compete for the coveted homebrewing title.
The list of participating breweries is a mix of local spots — Charles Towne Fermentory, Tradesman Brewing Company and Estuary Beans & Barley are a few Charleston representatives — and out-of-towners like Maine’s Allagash Brewing Company and Charlotte’s Sycamore Brewing.
Attendees can purchase general admission, VIP or “designated driver” packages, with ticket prices starting at $30 per person. Due to the shift to a virtual 2020 festival, “tickets purchased for the 2020 festival will be reissued and valid for the 2021 in-person festival,” a press release said.
