Twenty Democratic attorneys general have voiced their support for a lawsuit challenging South Carolina’s new abortion law, which requires doctors to do an ultrasound to check for a so-called “fetal heartbeat.” If cardiac activity is detected, an abortion can only be performed in limited circumstances.
