Masa waffles with berries and syrup available for brunch at Maya

Late night Mexican dinner spot Maya introduced its new brunch hours and menu Sunday.

Going forward, the 11 a.m.-3 p.m. menu will be a rotating selection of Mexican-inspired brunch dishes including huevos rancheros — house-made tortillas with black beans, sunny side up eggs, salsa tatemada, crema, queso fresco, chives and avocado. Also on offer will be chilaquiles verdestotopos (similar to tortillas) in a salsa verde with crema, queso fresco, onion and cilantro, and a sunny side up egg. Masa waffles will feature a corn masa waffle, fresh berries, butter and syrup. And tortas will be filled with fried eggs, queso, chorizo, avocado and morita mayo on a toasted brioche bun.

Other featured dishes will be rollovers from the new restaurant’s dinner menu, including the aguachile, with diver scallops, jicama, cucumber, radish, serrano chile and herbs in a seasonal spicy aguachile. Also, tostada atun, featuring yellowfin tuna, smashed avocado, salsa macha, crispy shallots & cilantro.

A new menu of brunch cocktails from bar manager Matthew Van Xanten will also be available.

Maya is open Sun. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5-10 p.m., Wed. 5-10 p.m., and Thurs.-Sat. 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
