Local video production service, The Grilled Cheese, will host a hip-hop night in partnership with Charleston Sky Entertainment March 31 at Tin Roof West Ashley.

Greenville-based rapper Jett Jones will headline the lineup of local and regional artists that includes K. Rich, 404 Error, Hirow, Ivory Keys, El and Noah Millen.

Ivory Keys’ style is an alternative R&B-rap hybrid, with his 2019 single “In the Mix,” drawing him initial attention in the Charleston scene. He’s been easing his way back onto local stages recently now that live music is recovering in the pandemic.

“2020 was like an involuntary break from things,” Ivory Keys told City Paper. “These past few shows I’ve just been trying to get back into the groove of performing and regaining that confidence, and the confidence to record and make music. There’s a few things I’ve been working on with a few of my friends, and I’m planning on putting things out this summer.”

Tickets are $10 at the door for the 9 p.m. event with local vendor Billy Thrift.
