Pour House will fuse Doom Flamingo’s manic-expressive synthwave sound with Little Stranger’s ‘90s hip-hop party vibes on April 16 for a huge outdoor concert “In The Lot” with alt-rock group Human Resources, hip-hop act Skip’Lo and Brooklyn-based rapper, Jarv.

Doors open at 4 p.m. for the outdoor performances on the Pour House deck and lot stages, and then after 10 p.m., the shindig will move to the indoor stage for “The Late Night House Party” show, featuring members of Doom Flamingo and Little Stranger with Asheville-based musician Josh Phillips and special guests.

“We’re going to bust out a new single,” said Doom Flamingo bassist Ryan Stasik of Umphree’s McGee. “We’re going through the setlist and we’re running into the quandary of, ‘We can’t play them all, we don’t have the time.’ It’s a good problem to have. When we first started we only had four or five originals.”

With a full length album on the horizon, Doom Flamingo will unveil new material at the hometown show April 16 before the group embarks on a festival circuit. Keep an eye out for Queen is Doomed, the group’s alternative title for its Queen tribute, which will debut at SweetWater 420 Fest in Atlanta at the end of April.

“We’re covering a whole set of Queen,” Stasik told City Paper. “We’ve been rehearsing for these and I am not lying — goosebumps.”

Tickets for the outdoor and indoor concerts on April 16 are available through Charleston Pour House
