Music on the Green has returned to Freshfields Village on Kiawah Island to welcome the start of summer. Enjoy free music performances outdoors at the family friendly events that will run through September 2, starting with a two-night series over Memorial Day weekend May 27 and 28 from 6-9 p.m.
Local party band Diverse Groove will kick things off May 27 with a setlist of popular hits spanning the 1960s to today.
“We play it all,” said Diverse Groove vocalist Lamar Brace. “We have diversity in our music. We can give you everything from Earth, Wind & Fire to Bruno Mars. We can give you whatever you need.”
The band has been playing the Lowcountry music scene since 2014.
“We’re high energy,” Brace said. “We give you a good show. We get the party started.”
And on May 28, local singer/guitarist Dave Landeo & The Sol Beats will perform a solid repertoire of rock ‘n’ roll.
“We play a variety of fun, energetic covers and originals,” Landeo said. “Some of the originals will be from my latest release Funshine, which is a compilation of songs written on live stream in which viewers contributed to the lyric content. It was a great brainstorming songwriting session.”
Details are available through Fresh Fields Village.
