Patriots Point Fourth of July Blast
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks Blast is back for 2022. Visitors will enjoy food trucks, fireworks and live music. Guests are invited to a free party at the historic World War II aircraft carrier Yorktown that includes live music, access to more than a dozen food trucks and a fireworks show above Charleston Harbor after sundown. This event does not require a ticket. Parking at Patriots Point for the day is $20 per vehicle. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own seating.

Exploring the Joy of Writing Workshop
If you’re looking to start a writing practice, move past feeling stuck in your craft or develop confidence in your creativity, the monthly writing workshop at Redux is for you. Each session will offer new prompts, readings and exercises with fresh perspectives. This workshop will take place on the last Wednesday of each month. Be sure to register in advance. Led by local writer Stephanie Hunt, this workshop is open to writers of all experience levels.

Magnolia History Fair
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens and the Slave Dwelling Project present “Living History Through the Eyes of the Enslaved” at the restored cabins that once housed enslaved workers at Magnolia. The Slave Dwelling project exists to change the narrative of American history and address the legacies of slavery by calling attention to the agency of enslaved people. The project raises awareness of slave dwellings and other structures significant to the enslaved ancestors.

Fourth of July Celebration with Charleston Symphony
The City of Charleston returns with its Fourth of July celebration at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park downtown. The special free-to-attend concert at The Joe, featuring the Charleston Symphony conducted by Yuriy Bekker, will be followed by a fireworks display sponsored by The Charleston Place. The event is free, but tickets can be reserved.

Bay Street Biergarten Fourth of July Bash
Get a jump start on your Fourth of July celebrations with original Charleston music in a family-friendly atmosphere and a dining menu complete with cocktails and beer. Music from local synth-pop rock group Greg Keys & Company starts at 12 p.m. and Old Soul Band takes the stage at 5 p.m., cranking out classic rock ‘n’ roll hits as well as original material.
