Dinner with big personalities, comfort food

Liz Crowley of downtown Charleston wants to share her dream dinner with a comedian, an actress and an eccentric fitness personality. Together, they’ll enjoy savory comfort dishes including ramen and buttery mussels along with refreshing mojitos and a unique Indian dessert.

DREAM DINNER GUESTS: Comedian and author David Sedaris, actress Tori Spelling and fitness personality Richard Simmons. (Sedaris is soon appearing in Charleston.)

DRINK: Gin Mojito from Nippitaty Distillery. “I hated gin and tonics until trying Nippitaty — the only organic gin joint in the country. Their Mojitos knock your socks off!”

APPETIZER: Prince Edward Island mussels cooked in herb shallot butter from High Cotton. “The bread is char-grilled to perfection with the PEI mussels at High Cotton.”

ENTREE: Duck confit ramen from Bistronomy. “Who combines ramen with duck confit other than Nico Romo at Bistronomy?”

DESSERT: Pista Kulfi from Spice Palette Indian Cuisine in Mount Pleasant. “Spice Palette … makes unique but delicious Eastern desserts.”
