Zandrina Dunning’s local production company, The ZD Experience, began as a collaborative effort with venues in the Southeast to bring back live music after Covid hit. Dunning organizes full scale productions such as tribute shows to Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, as well as more intimate events featuring jazz/soul ensembles. As CEO and artistic director, Dunning is constantly piecing together curated musical experiences that span genres. She gave City Paper her list of albums that she said, “give me what I need when I need it.”
