In a major prime time speech delivered Thursday, President Joe Biden urged Americans to continue fighting for democracy and accused Republican supporters of former President Donald Trump of embracing extremism.
Meanwhile in Georgia, a federal judge again rejected an attempt by U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to keep from testifying before a special grand jury looking into possible illegal efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in the Peach State.

County officials have been collecting data from the past few years in regards for their desired “Climate Action Plan.” Thursday’s floodings were cited as an example of the importance of the plan.
Major drainage project in Charleston reaches final stages. The largest drainage project in Charleston is set to enter its final stages. The nearly $200 million project is scheduled to start next year after nearly a decade of planning.
Tropical Storm Danielle forms in the Atlantic. Meteorologists have announced that Tropical Storm Danielle has formed in the Atlantic as of Thursday. The storm is expected to upgrade to a hurricane in the next two days and is heading toward the Southeast coast of the United States. The storm is continuing to be monitored.
Boeing’s Dreamliner one of the world’s safest aircrafts. Recent statistics have shown the North Charleston-build Dreamliner aircraft series is among the world’s safest aircrafts. Statistics show that the Dreamliners has had no fatalities or events involving extensive damage during more than a decade of flights.
CDC recommends new Covid boosters. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced that it encourages U.S. citizens to get the reformulated Covid booster. The new booster is supposed to attack the omicron subvariant that caused previous spikes earlier this year. Some shots are expected to be administered as early as this weekend.
Gas prices decline heading into the weekend. Gas prices across the state have reached an average of $3.40 per gallon, with some areas dipping below the $3 mark. The decrease is nearly 20% down from July.
