Former President Donald Trump held two events Saturday, including one at the S.C. Statehouse that was called a “splashy rollout,” as he struggles to keep support for his third bid for the White House. Here’s a one-on-one TV interview with the former president.
During the event, Trump named two supporters, Gov. Henry McMaster and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, to his state campaign leadership team. And later, he visited a Zesto’s restaurant.
Missing Saturday were two South Carolinians — former Gov. Nikki Haley and U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, both of whom continue to be mentioned as possible GOP presidential candidates. Meanwhile, The Post and Courier reports there will be a big panel of GOP presidential candidates who meet in South Carolina in March.
