Just hours after saying “I do” at the altar, a bride was hit and killed by a vehicle on Folly Beach as she left her wedding reception, police say. The groom and two other passengers were injured, two severely, according to reports.
Donations in honor of Samantha Miller have been pouring into a GoFundMe account her husband’s mother started to help pay burial and the medical costs for the groom’s family. As of this morning, more than $400,000 had been given – four times the campaign’s goal. In the GoFundMe post, the groom’s mother said the cart flew 100 yards and rolled several times.
A James Island woman has been arrested on reckless homicide and other charges in relation to the car-golf cart accident. Police said the golf cart was hit at 65 mph in a 25 mph zone.
