South Carolina motorists rank 10th worst in driving, according to a new report by Forbes Advisor. In fact, five of the 10 worst driving states are in the South. Others include: Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Kentucky.
The report offers these key metrics that earned South Carolina the ranking, according to The State newspaper:
- Fatalities. Almost 16 drunk drivers per 100,000 licensed drivers are involved in fatal car accidents.
- Distracted drivers. Some 1.41 fatal car accidents involve a distracted driver per 100,000 licensed drivers.
- Sleepy drivers. Some 0.64 drowsy drivers are involved in fatal car accidents per 100,000 licensed drivers.
