Reports taken from Sept. 26 to Oct. 5
Our dad can beat up your dad
North Charleston police on Sept. 26 broke up a fight between students at North Charleston High School, but weren’t prepared for a second fight among the students’ parents. The Brady-Bunch brawl reportedly resulted in one parent being arrested and another being charged with breach of peace. More charges may come, police said.
Summer stealing
A Mount Pleasant man on Oct. 1 told Mount Pleasant police someone stole his grill off his front porch overnight. He said his neighbor’s bike was stolen recently as well. The investigation is ongoing, so if you see a man in a ski mask grilling franks on a bicycle, you know who to call — aside from the nearest talent agency.
Fast and Furious
North Charleston police on Oct. 5 aided the S.C. Law Enforcement Division (SLED) in a high-speed pursuit during which the suspect rammed through a SLED vehicle blockade, hopped a curb onto U.S. Highway 52, slammed into numerous vehicles to force through traffic and eventually fled on foot into the woods before being caught and arrested. Maybe in the next movie, Vin Diesel.
Can’t a man have a can of tuna?
A Mount Pleasant man allegedly banned from a U.S. Highway 17 pharmacy in 2018 told Mount Pleasant police he had walked through the store’s parking lot on Oct. 1 so another shopper could buy him a can of tuna. Police told him that his five-year-old trespass notice did not expire and arrested him for trespassing. No word on whether he ever got his tuna.
Land of the free
A Mount Pleasant man on Oct. 3 refused to pay for services at a U.S. Highway 17 auto shop after he claimed the services weren’t done properly and that the manager was a “fool.” The shop manager demanded the customer be kept away from the property, to which the man rebutted, “Is this still America?” Compelling argument. He was put on notice by police.
Maximum effort
A North Charleston man on Oct. 5 reportedly cut a hole in another man’s fence, climbed into his boat, emptied his cooler full of beer and stole the now-empty cooler. According to a police report, the property owner only wanted to report the theft due to the hole in the fence, but we’ll see how he feels if the warm weather makes a surprise return.
