The University of South Carolina Lady Gamecocks will open the 2023-24 basketball season today in the City of Light in the first women’s college basketball game ever played in Paris.

“I think it’s pretty darn cool to be trendsetters,” USC coach Dawn Staley told the Associated Press.
In recent days, both teams participated in busy schedules that included youth clinics and sightseeing, such as a trip to the Louvre to see Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa.”
Prediction: The Greenville News predicts a Gamecock win due to their speed and defense. Star Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles also is expected to be out with an injury.
