Charleston County voters will head back to the polls today to decide the winners in three municipal races – City of Charleston mayor, Charleston City Council District 9 in West Ashley and one seat on Folly Beach City Council.
For Charleston mayor, incumbent Mayor John Tecklenburg faces former state Rep. William Cogswell. Both scored about a third of votes in the Nov. 7 general election as the remainder was split by four other candidates.
Voters in the West Ashley area must decide between newcomers William Tinkler and Mike Gastin while Folly Beach residents decide on Billy Grooms or Ann Peets for the final city council seat.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To find your local polling locations, election headquarters and sample ballots and to check your registration status, visit the S.C. Election Commission online at www.scvotes.gov.
