Charleston Wine + Food kicked off last night at Festival Hall featuring tons of local talent and live music from Motown Throwdown Music. Guests got to sample bites from 34 of Charleston’s best chefs and distinguished South Carolina Chef Ambassadors and sip on a wide variety of spirited drinks (along with plenty of NA options).

While opening night traditionally takes place in Cistern Yard, inclement weather moved the party inside and across the street to Festival Hall. The venue change didn’t seem to bother party-goers, though, as many folks brought their dancing shoes. 

Guests sipped on a variety of wine

Food options ranged from sweet treats from local pastry chefs like Swank Desserts’ Danetra Richardson to savory bites from Gabrielle’s executive chef Edgar Kano. Cru Cafe’s chef John Zucker served up corn dogs dipped in a wall of cascading sauces — a crowd favorite bite of the evening.

Espresso martini lovers got drinks and a show with the bartenders from Tito’s mixing up the cult fave cocktail with tricks behind the bar. The crew at Bodega served up the perfect bites to-go, with bagged breakfast sammies, hot sauce and a cookie. 

Wine + Food continues all weekend long — and it’s not too late to join in the fun if you haven’t purchased tickets yet. There are still some limited tickets available for signature dinners and special events. And don’t forget about the free street festival taking place tonight on Upper King Street.
