Reports taken from March 31 to April 13

He just likes to run

North Charleston police on April 13 chased a shirtless man along Dorchester Road, around a hotel and through a car wash before eventually catching him. Police did not note why the man was running, but they arrested him for breach of peace and trespassing.

Vivid description

Charleston police stopped a downtown man on March 31 while he was walking his dog near Colonial Lake because officers said he “appeared to be grossly intoxicated.” Upon closer inspection, police noted “alcohol beverage emanated from his person.” We’re going to choose to take that description literally, and invite that guy to all future City Paper parties.

All’s well that ends well

A three-person argument regarding neighborhood parking on April 14 led to threats of lawsuits and a call to the Mount Pleasant police. When officers arrived, they reported they mediated the situation and all three parties shook hands, moved their vehicles and apologized — a (mount) pleasantly surprising outcome.

Asking politely

A downtown man on April 1 threatened to beat up another man in front of officers after their kids got into an argument and a bicycle was thrown into a lake. Officers told the men not to get any closer, to which one of them asked to “get at least one punch in.” Bold ask.

At least he knocked

A Mount Pleasant man on April 14 answered a knock on his apartment door to find a man in his underwear who immediately tried to enter the apartment. The would-be intruder later told police he thought he was trying to enter his own apartment, and police noted that he appeared to be more-than-a-little intoxicated.
