Charleston nightlife will be a lot wilder and fun with the Nov. 7 grand opening of Cedar Creek Tavern in Ladson – the perfect place to do some line-dancing, hear great music and have an unforgettable night with a lot of western flair.

Put on your boots and cowboy hats and head over to this go-to destination In Crowfield Plaza off Interstate 526 at Crowfield Boulevard.

“As soon as you walk in the building, you can just tell you’re going to have a great time,” said DJ Bekster, who will provide music and entertainment every Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to closing time.

“They’ve sectioned off the building so that you can have whatever experience you’re looking for. What I really think is going to make the difference with Cedar Creek is the staff that they’ve chosen and all of the little details they’ve put into creating a next-level experience.”

The heart of the 7,500-square-foot honky tonk is a huge floating wooden dance floor that’s perfect for line-dancing, two-stepping and everything in between.  The place is, Bekster said, something that the Lowcountry desperately needs.

“The Charleston area is full of incredible dancers and amazing people who love to have fun, but we just haven’t had many places that truly cater to what the line dance community needs,” she said. “That’s why Cedar Creek Tavern is such a game-changer.

“They’ve created an upscale, welcoming space where dancers are comfortable, appreciated and made a priority. It’s the perfect mix of great energy, great people and great vibes. We’ve been waiting for a place like this, and I know the community is beyond excited to hit the dance floor here.”

Toe-tappers will thrill to high-energy entertainment that frequently features regional touring bands and top country DJs spinning new and classic hits.  And to give each night some extra sparkle is an infectious, state-of-the-art sound and lighting system that will get even the most modest cowboy or cowgirl swinging their hips.

“You can line dance anywhere,” Bekster said.  “We’ve done it in backyards, parking lots, lakeside, on boats, on the beach – you name it!

“But Cedar Creek Tavern is taking everything that we’ve all been wanting in a dance space and delivering it with a big bow and a handful of confetti. I am going to bring the full Bekster experience with me, which means high energy, line dancing and country swing, contests, theme nights and a truly inclusive atmosphere where we can all come and have a good time!”

She said line-dancing provides a special kind of joy, plain and simple.

“It’s fun, freeing, and it brings people together like nothing else. With TikTok and social media, more and more people started trying it and realized, ‘Wait … this is actually doable!’

“You don’t have to be a pro. Just come ready to have fun. It’s an amazing workout, it’s a safe space and it’s seriously the best vibe around. I’m all about that multitasking life; getting out, moving your body and making memories all at once.  That’s a total win-win in my book!

More than a place to dance

If you need to take a break from the dance floor, you can cool off at a massive island bar where ice-cold beers flow with whiskeys and creative craft cocktails.  If you feel a little hungry, you can enjoy fresh, healthy tavern favorites and even a fresh sushi station!

But you can take everything up a notch, too, in the tavern’s VIP lounges, which feature plush cowhide-upholstered sofas, polished wood accents and plenty of space to kick back in style.

Guests can also gather around professional-grade pool tables or test their grit on Cedar Creek’s top-rated mechanical bull, an Instagram-worthy must.

“When you’re dancing with a crowd of people all doing the same moves, the energy is unmatched,” Bekster said. “And even if you’re not dancing, watching the dance floor move like waves is one of the coolest things to experience.”

Parking is easy as Cedar Creek Tavern has a large, well-lit parking lot.
