MORNING HEADLINES  |  It’s Giving Tuesday — the day every year that focuses on charitable giving in the global movement dedicated to inspiring generosity during the holiday season.

Launched in 2012 with a simple mission – to encourage people to do good – it has grown into a worldwide initiative that promotes giving, collaboration, and community support year-round. Nonprofits across the Lowcountry are encouraging donations today to promote their missions to help people across the Palmetto State.

Here’s a list of local organizations across the area participating in Giving Tuesday.  Or you can check with your local favorite on how to make a contribution.

Meanwhile, Charleston Animal Society is urging the community to adopt or foster animals as the organization cares for more than 1,000 animals across the Lowcountry while facing severe space constraints.
