MORNING HEADLINES  |   If you missed your chance to buy a Powerball lottery ticket for Wednesday’s $1.2 billion drawing, you have another opportunity.

With no one picking the six correct numbers Wednesday, the pot grows to an estimated $1.5 billion for Saturday’s drawing.  Each chance costs $2.

The new jackpot will be the seventh largest in history for the two biggest national games, Powerball and Mega Millions.  Your chance of winning:  1 in 292.2 million.  But you can’t win if you don’t have a ticket!

Speaking of pot, the Washington Post editorialized late Wednesday that the federal government should legalize marijuana and let states sort it out:  “President Donald Trump is going green. On Thursday, he plans to sign an executive order to loosen restrictions on marijuana. That’s fine, but it’s going to do little to fix America’s overall approach to the drug. It would be better to legalize pot federally and let states decide if they want to restrict it any further.”
