Local comedy outfit Nameless Numberhead is announcing a sweeping new run of shows for the spring of 2026 including monthly Disruptor Improv Comedy Shows, the return of Rip City on a Boat, and the highly anticipated comeback of eXcess boXes, an all women’s sketch comedy and local giveaway show. WHAT’S NEW

Axes to arcade: Park Circle’s The Bearded Ax at 1077 E. Montague Ave. has reopened under a new name and concept, Bearded, A Social Tavern. As of March 2, the ax-throwing venue has transitioned into a barcade-style hangout built around gaming, drinks and community events. The new concept offers time-based unlimited play passes — $18 for one hour or $28 for two hours — across 32+ games.

Japanese happy meals: Shiawase boxes, the nostalgic Japanese “Happy Meal” combination, are now available at Shokudô. Pizza contest: Michael Pitera, owner of Pizza A Modo Mio and Café, is representing Charleston in pizza competitions in Las Vegas and Parma, Italy. The International Pizza Challenge takes place in late March at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and then Pitera will travel to Parma, Italy in April to compete in a prestigious global pizza competition.

Noodle needs: Aswang Noodle Club will be at Sweatman’s Garden full time starting April 1, bringing its cult-following noodle nights and collaborations to a permanent home. The residency will feature a rotating lineup of ramen, noodle dishes, snacks and specials influenced by Southeast Asian street food. Sweatman’s small batch, seasonal sodas will offer a crisp counterpoint to the flavors coming out of the Aswang kitchen.
