Reports taken from April 16 to April 25
Go ahead
North Charleston police on April 25 received word that someone apparently stole a walkie-talkie and several frozen breakfast sandwiches from a Rivers Avenue store. Store employees told police they didn’t see anyone take the merchandise, but found the empty packaging that night. Breaker, breaker, come in: Random hungry North Charlestonian, please return the breakfast sandwiches. Over.
Hey, son, watch this
North Charleston police on April 24 attempted to stop a vehicle on Spruill Avenue for having illegal window tinting, which led to a short stop-and-go chase with the driver before he ultimately pulled over. Officers reportedly found more than 100 grams of presumed marijuana and a loaded gun in the car — right next to the man’s juvenile son. Well, that’s certainly one way to show off.
Cash, card, or pills?
A Mount Pleasant police officer on April 20 stopped for lunch at a Park West Plaza restaurant after picking up her prescription medication. After finishing her meal, however, she left the pills on the pay counter and didn’t realize it until the next day. By that time, they were gone. We never thought to tip with prescription drugs, but hey, if it’s good enough for the police …
Sure, we guess
A downtown man on April 16 reportedly stole a can of beer from a Meeting Street gas station right in front of the clerk — and he apparently might have had an accomplice. Police said they made a copy of the security footage for investigation, but we’re left wondering to what lengths they’ll be willing to go to find the culprit(s) over less than $3.
