5Church to become Church and Union in 2022 | Provided

Charlotte-based 5th Street Group, owners of 5Church and Tempest in downtown Charleston, announced on Dec. 6 the rebranding of the 5Church name for its Charlotte and Charleston locations to Church and Union.

Recently opening Church and Union in Nashville, Tennessee, the hospitality group decided to expand the brand to the 5Church restaurants.

“5Church has been an extraordinary brand, and we are very proud how far it has come,” said Charlotte-based 5th Street Group partners Patrick Whalen, Alejandro Torio and chef Jamie Lynch in a press release. “Our success has been a testament to the brand itself, our guests and the people who have been part of its story.”

The 5Church brand, along with some menu items like the 5Church Lamb Burger, the 60 Second Steak and the Viper, will retire on Dec. 31, rebranding to Church and Union on Jan. 1, 2022.

“The 5th Street Group intends to continue expanding this story by moving on to Church and Union; a brand that, while in its infancy, has all the makings of something truly inspiring. We hope you will come along for the ride. CU soon.”
