Looking for an animal companion to ring in the Fourth of July? Here’s your chance — the Frances R. Willis SPCA is holding a “clear the shelter” adoption special this Fourth of July weekend. The shelter has a normal capacity of 165 but is currently holding over 300 animals.

Excluding puppies and kittens, all animals older than six months have a special $17 adoption fee. That includes microchipping, spaying and neutering, vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and FELV/FIV testing. You’ll also get a free first 30 days of pet health insurance from Pet Health, Inc.

The SPCA is located at 136 4 Paws Lane in Summerville, and the adoption special runs from June 29 to July 2.
