SCE&G reportedly got the OK from the lawmaker-appointed Public Service Commission to move ahead with expanding the nuclear facility a decade ago with only a “generic” construction schedule. Source: The State

CofC President Glenn McConnell has turned down a ‘secessionist’ group’s request to debate the flying the Confederate flag rather than hold a “flagging” rally on the campus led by McConnell, once a staunch supporter of the Confederate symbol. Source: P&C

Congressman Mark Sanford doesn’t seem too worried about President Donald Trump’s past threats to field a primary challenger to unseat him, saying “He seems to get distracted… His primises seem to have a half-life.” Source: P&C

County and city officials in North Charleston broke ground on the new intermodal transportation center off East Montague Avenue today. It will serve as a new Amtrak facility as well as a hub for a planned bus rapid transit line that will run up Rivers Avenue. Source: P&C
