Charleston got lucky earlier this month when Irma side swiped us with rain and wind — but we know what’s it like when our luck runs out. That’s why the Washout is holding not one but two hurricane relief fundraisers this weekend, raising money for both Hurricane Harvey and Irma victims. Both events will be held in the Washout restaurant and parking lot, which will be set up with a stage, tents, and food and beverage stations.

On Sat. Sept. 30 from 2-7 p.m. join the Folly Beach Exchange Club in raising money for Hurricane Harvey victims through the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Guests can purchase slow-cooked barbecue and sides for $10 a plate, participate in a silent auction, and listen to live music from Plane Jane, the Folly Beach Bluegrass All-Stars, and more. Half of the day’s proceeds will go to the Red Cross relief fund.

On Sun. Oct. 1 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. the Washout raises money for those affected by Hurricane Irma in St. John and St. Thomas through Kenny Chesney’s Love for Love City campaign. Sunday features live music, raffles, giveaways, and a silent auction.
