Pita King

437 King St. Downtown. (843) 722-1977

Charleston is home to one of the oldest Jewish populations in the country (the first Jewish settlers arrived here way back in 1695). Despite this — remarkably — there exists only one Charleston restaurant that enables customers to keep completely kosher. Fortunately, Pita King makes up for their solitary status by being all-around awesome. The falafel pita, with rabbi-blessed freshness, may change your life (especially if you opt for the extra spice). The King guys are also super nice, willing to chat and throw in a few extra fries. Pita King certainly reigns as royalty when it comes to kosher cantinas — and not just because they’re the only available heir.
