Can you believe we live in a world with seven seasons of Southern Charm? Sprung from the young and innocent days of 2014, the so-called reality show made cable TV celebrities out of disgraced former politicians, wannabe socialites and their ravenous hangers-on. City Paper even fanned the fire for a few seasons, but in case you hadn’t noticed, our popular “Southern Charm Newbie” column has since retired.
Cast members’ dalliances with one another and anyone else who gives them attention have been among the plotlines, along with casual narratives around assault, drug addiction, social media harassment and racism.
