The Winter Sounds share the stage with The Specs at the Tin Roof this evening (as featured in Music Board):

Charleston pop-rock band The Specs recently celebrated the release of a new, 13-song studio album. Snippets sounded like Queen and The Beatles and U2 and Boston and Morrissey and Mission of Burma, all at once. The band shares the side-room stage at the Tin Roof on Tuesday with an exciting Atlanta indie band called The Winter Sounds (pictured). The modern-tinged retro pop group (bits of stylish New Wave, post-punk, and industrial-strength synth-pop) comes armed with advance copies of their new EP. The video for their latest college radio single “Windy City Nights” kinda-sorta reminds us of Split Enz’s “Six Months in a Leaky Boat,” but with more tuxedos. Show time is 10 p.m. Cover is five bucks. Check it out.
