COVID-19 remains a pandemic of the unvaccinated

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new data this week that seems to reaffirm the old adage that COVID-19 has become a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

Data on slowing the spread of the disease as well as keeping infected people out of the hospital show a growing gap between vaccinated and unvaccinated Americans. While there are still many infections in those who are unvaccinated, most are those who have not gotten boosters โ€” about 53%, data show.

And when it comes to arguably the most serious metric โ€” deaths โ€” the gap is vast. CDC data from a larger study found the death rate was 53 times higher among unvaccinated than boosted people.
