Twenty-three people were shot or injured in two South Carolina mass shootings over the Easter weekend — nine were shot and five injured Saturday at a mall shooting in Columbia while nine were shot early Sunday at a Hampton County nightclub. Amazingly, no one apparently died.
In Columbia, 22-year-old Jewayne Price, one of three initially detained by police in connection with a shooting at a shopping mall, has been arrested. The shooting victims ranged in age from 15 to 73. No fatalities were reported, but police said nine were shot and five were injured in attempts to flee the mall for safety.
Early Sunday in the Hampton County town of Furman, nine people were shot at Cara’s Lounge, according to police. No one died, they said. More: Associated Press, The State, WLTX, CNN, The Post and Courier, The Washington Post, The New York Times
