Record Stop Sessions EP reveals Jay Van Raalte’s refreshing rock ‘n’ roll with a more vulnerable side of her musical vision | Photo by Jeff O'Brien

Lowcountry rocker Jay Van Raalte dropped a new live EP and video entitled Record Stop Sessions that captures Jay Van Raalte and the Spectrum’s acoustic session at Record Stop Charleston on King Street.

The stripped back performance of Van Raalte’s refreshing rock ‘n’ roll shows a more vulnerable side of her musical vision with intricate guitar driven melodies (including a mash up of Eleanor Rigby on the first track “Used to Be”).

JVR & the Spectrum will continue to tour the latest album Linearity throughout the summer with a batch of regional shows, including a June 11 performance at The Royal American downtown. $10 tickets, doors 9 p.m.
