If you saw a giant hot dog on wheels rolling around downtown Charleston over the last couple of days, don’t worry — you’re not crazy.
“Allie Dog” and her co-pilot “Glizzy Garrison,” two of Oscar Mayer’s official hotdoggers, are driving the Wienermobile through the Lowcountry this weekend to get a jump on St. Patrick’s day festivities. The pair will be handing out “weenie whistles,” showing off the inside of the vehicle, taking photos and having hot dog dance parties with folks who drop by.
Hot dog! (Which is maybe better than when we said Hot Nuts when the Planters Nutmobile stopped by in October.)
Allie said the best part of being a hotdogger is all of the people she gets to meet from communities throughout the country.
“I have toured up and down the West Coast, East Coast and Puerto Rico with the Wienermobile,” she told the Charleston City Paper. “Each place we go to is special in its own way, and I love meeting the community members and seeing what makes that community unique.
“My co-pilot Glizzy Garrison and I have truly enjoyed exploring the beautiful sights of Charleston and the amazing food it has so offer,” she added. “We are super excited to meet the community this weekend at all of our events.”
