MORNING HEADLINES | Cooler weather is back in South Carolina as a cold front pushed through Sunday bringing strong winds and heavy rain.
Today in the Lowcountry, expect highs in the mid-50s — much cooler than recent days. Tonight temperatures may drop to the low-30s inland and around 40 along the coast. Wind gusts may reach 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. By the weekend, temperatures may drop a bit more.
The Midlands and Upstate may see a wintry mix of rain, snow and ice at week’s end.
Across the South over the past weekend, deadly storms killed nine with drenching rains and heavy wind in spots.
