Smash City Burgers will partner with Hoops Against Homelessness from noon to 6 p.m. March 30 to benefit a local shelter.

Nine local chefs will serve their versions of a classic smashburger and fries at the downtown restaurant, which is located at 47 Cooper St. Guests can buy $25 tickets for a particular time slot but won’t know who their chef is until the day of the event.

Participating chefs include Aaron Siegel, Vito Drake, Cam Wetzler, Cam McVey, Molly Gordon, Graham Calabria, Rob Fowler, and Christine and Ray England.

“There are so many creative chefs here in Charleston and I am thrilled they are coming by to participate in such a fun, worthy event,” said Smash City Burgers owner Jeremy Reynolds in a press release.

In addition to the burgers, there will be a tap takeover and silent auction.

Hoops Against Homelessness, which benefits One80 Place, was founded by Wade Altum, a sixth grader at Daniel Island School. In his initial campaign, Altum challenged his friends and family to shoot 10 free throws and donate for every free throw made.
