Kintsugi and Tea Valentine’s Workshop

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, transforming fractures into a beautiful part of its story. Head to Oliver Pluff’s Tea Shop for a guided kintsugi workshop designed for couples this Valentine’s weekend. Share one kintsugi kit, enjoy a pot of tea and light dessert and learn the basics of this centuries-old Japanese art that celebrates care and patience.

Cupid’s Undie Run

Hundreds of locals will brave the weather in just their undies this Valentine’s Day in the nation’s largest pantless party and mile(ish) charity run in more than 30 cities. The Cupid’s Undie Run raises awareness for neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder, and raises money for research through the Children’s Tumor Foundation. This is the 10th year the event has taken place in the city.

Black History Month tours

Tour the historic Nathaniel Russell House on Saturdays in February for Black History Month. More marketing: The Little Market is opening a second location later this year on Sullivan’s Island at 2019 Middle St., joining the existing downtown location at 43 Broad St. It will offer provisions like jumbo lump crabmeat, caviar, wagyu beef, pizza, pasta and ice cream as well as items for entertaining like linens, candles and flowers. Local vendors represented will include Rio Bertolini, Bakers Bar, Storey Farm and Lowcountry Creamery.

Adults-only: Decoy, an adult-only bar from the team behind Dog and Duck Family Pubs, is set to open mid-February east of the Cooper at 5550 S.C. Highway 41 at U.S. Highway 17. It will offer cold beers, well-priced cocktails, a small bar food menu and a large outdoor, pet-friendly dining and patio area. Open daily.
