Our podcasting community is getting more robust and if you want to dive in, getting started isn’t that complicated. All you may need to start with are some microphones, a bit of curiosity and an openness to explore.

A smooth voice doesn’t hurt, but what matters most is enthusiasm. The real challenge is choosing a topic. After all, Charleston — one of the oldest and most storied cities in the United States — offers a wealth of inspiration. From food and art to local history and community, there’s no shortage of voices waiting to be heard.

Our podcast, Shrimp City Report,  had a simple mission for our native father and son duo: let’s interview the people, places, and stories we love. What began as a small passion project has grown into an ever-expanding list of conversations that reflect the heart and soul of Charleston.

Podcasting takes time, commitment and a genuine love for the craft — but it’s also about love for this community and what it represents. Our dedication is rooted in a desire to learn and to share that learning with others. In many ways, podcasting is therapeutic. Every episode is a chance to connect more deeply with the city and its people.

You can support the Charleston creative community and the best way to start is simple: listen. Each podcast adds something unique to the area’s cultural fabric.
