Charleston Greek Festival
Join in a celebration that brings Greek culture and history to the Lowcountry. At the 55th annual Greek Festival, guests can enjoy authentic cuisine, wine, live music and dancing. Cultivating Abundance workshop

Bella White at the Pour House
See musician Bella White live on stage at Charleston Pour House Thursday night. White’s third album, A Sign in the Weather, is a body of work steeped in the life-altering magic of her origins. The Calgary-born singer/songwriter left her home on Vancouver Island and moved to New Orleans, where she became enmeshed in the vibrant indie-rock scene.

The Lowcountry Street Grocery mobile farmers market is a one-stop shop with over 90 local vendors participating on its bus on Daniel Island. The Lowcountry Street Grocery takes the burden of going to a farmers market off the farmers and vendors so that they can dedicate more time to their produce and product. Also catch the bus at Folly Beach on Tuesdays and in North Charleston and Downtown on Wednesdays.

South Carolina investor and philanthropist Darla Moore was recognized by New York City’s The Shed with the naming of its Level 2 Gallery as the Darla Moore Gallery. A founding board member, Moore donated an unrestricted gift of $25 million to the nonprofit organization.

Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ unceremoniously closed its downtown location “until further notice” at 5 p.m. Sunday. Also reportedly impacted were locations in Birmingham and Atlanta. The restaurants are part of Pihakis Restaurant Group, which reportedly is facing legal issues.
WHAT’S NEW
Beer buddy: Chef David Schuttenberg of Kwei Fei teamed with Low Tide Brewing’s head brewer, Sam Pagano, to create a custom Kwei Fei beer, a toasted sesame lager. The release party will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 29 at Low Tide, with the beer available alongside a pairing bite from Kwei Fei for $10. The lager will also be available on tap at both Kwei Fei and sister restaurant Beautiful South for a limited run, plus cans to-go from the brewery.

Dining art: Lou Lou’s Tavern on the Tracks, set to open this month at the Refinery, will have a curated art wall at the center of the restaurant. The installation will feature a collection of approximately 20 pieces from Charleston-based artists. People can submit their work for review by sending a short bio, examples of their work, Instagram handle or website and a note on their Charleston connection to art@louloustavern.com.

Dine and play: Crush Yard, the pickleball bar and lounge, has debuted brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Burger battle: The Holy City Brewing 5th Annual Burger Battle is on May 9 from noon to 4 p.m at the brewery. A professional panel of judges as well as all ticket holders will decide on the winner (voting ends at 3:15 p.m., and the final ballot count occurs at 3:30 p.m.). The battle benefits the Charleston Animal Society.
