Punk Flea Market
The Southeast Punk Flea Market focuses on underground art, alternative fashion and giving like-minded folks a place to showcase off-the-wall creations. If you’re a fan of weird art, vinyl records, vintage clothes or a collector of the strange and unusual, spend some time at the market and take away some truly unique art pieces, trinkets and more. The market features more than 90 vendors and will be open Saturday and Sunday.

14th annual Natural Hair Expo
In an effort to offer a positive, family-oriented community event that promotes natural hair products and healthy lifestyles, the Charleston Natural Hair Expo celebrates those who embrace the various textures of their hair. The event features educational workshops, blogger panel discussions, fun events for kids and a social mixer designed to empower its guests in all areas of their lives.

Early morning bird walks
Join the Caw Caw Interpretive Center for one of its local favorite regular morning bird walks. The trek through distinct habitats allows walkers and birdwatchers to view and discuss a variety of birds and other native critters. No registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars.

Lowcountry Street Grocery
The Lowcountry Street Grocery mobile farmers market is a one-stop shop with more than 90 local vendors participating on its bus on Daniel Island. The Lowcountry Street Grocery takes the burden of going to a farmers market off the farmers and vendors so that they can dedicate more time to their produce and product. Also catch the bus at Folly Beach on Tuesdays and in North Charleston and downtown on Wednesdays.

Carolina Days
This year marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia as well as the Battle of Sullivan’s Island, the first big naval victory by patriots in the American Revolution. In these celebrations across the state, each day of the week highlights a theme that connects our past to the present. To celebrate, groups all over the state will be hosting several events each day. Chill out and chuckle at Blazing Saddles

- Through Aug. 8, various dates: Redux Contemporary Art Center has three exhibitions on view this summer. In its main gallery, Creative Corridors: Analog features work from current resident studio artists. In the middle gallery, Cindy Jesup presents Bloom When You’re Planted, a new series of 14 mixed media works. In the back ballery, By Any Means is a Black collective group exhibition curated by Redux studio artist Kela featuring artists Barry White, Christopher Kyle, Damion Johnson, Dogon Krigga, J Henry, Jahnna Blyden, Jakeem Da Dream, Justin Moultrie, Kalah Crawford, Kalianna, Michelle Kaye, Najee Reese, Nathalie Watson, Ty Davis and Zion Shakur.

WHAT’S NEW
Bar bites: Marbled and Fin recently launched an exclusive bar bites menu, which is available daily at the bar. Starting at 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, the menu offers small plates like dressed oysters and beef tartare. Heartier options include a warm lobster roll and a wagyu burger.

More waterfront food and bev: The Cooper, will open several new food and beverage options this summer. Cooper Coffee and Wine will be an all-day cafe and wine bar on the hotel’s ground floor. The Crossing restaurant’s a la carte brunch will offer brunch from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, and the menu includes items like lobster Benedict, baklava pancakes. CurrentBurger, situated near the Waterfront Park fountain, will draw inspiration from the classic soda shop.

WHAT’S HAPPENING
Special sandwiches: da Toscano Porchetta Shop and Chef Michael Toscana are hosting the second annual “Greatest Show on Focaccia.” Through September, there will be a weekly featured sandwich created by some of Charleston’s best chefs including Jason Stanhope, Juan Cassalett, Jill Mathias, James London, Hector Garate, Shuai Wang and Dano Heinze. A portion of sales will be donated to the Morning Light Women and the children’s program of the Star Mission Gospel in partnership with the MUSC college of Nursing.

Patriotic Prohibition: Now through until Labor Day, Prohibition will open the All American Bar pop-up in it’s mid-bar area on from 4 p.m. to close Thursdays and Fridays and from 11 a.m.
to close Saturdays and Sundays. The pop-up will offer patriotic specialty drinks and $1.50 hot dogs as well as other specials in addition to the regular menus.
