Salt marsh biodiscovery
Learn about the importance of the salt marsh and the creatures that live within it in this hands-on citizen-science project made possible through a partnership with South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium. This opportunity to learn about the wildlife that calls Edisto Island home is recommended for participants age 10 and up. Guests can register online for this weekly event held every Tuesday.

Make collages showing vintage animal heads
Learn how to make your own fun and beautiful vintage collage art featuring stunning animal heads. Jurassic Seas at S.C. Aquarium
An exhibit 70 million years in the making continues to thrill aquanauts at the South Carolina Aquarium. Jurassic Seas, which is included with the aquarium admission price, sends guests into the late Cretaceous Period to encounter life-size skeletal replicas, examine stunning fossils and learn through interactive displays. This new experience will have everyone in the family from fossil fanatics to biology buffs playing paleontologist.

Pizza popup: New York export Prince St. Pizza is popping up on July 16 at Uptown Social to preview its Sicilian and Neapolitan-style pizzas. DJ Jack Callahan will be onsite and Uptown Social will offer cocktails. The pop-up starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. (or until sold out). Pizza slices will be available for $8 each, with a two-slice limit per guest. The event is first-come, first-served. No reservations are required. A permanent location at
350 King St. is expected to open later this year.

Downtown drafts: Two Blokes Brewing is opening a 50-seat taproom and covered outdoor patio at 114 Cannon St. The new downtown location will have a small-batch brewing system that will allow for experimental releases. Signature brews will continue to be produced at the original brewery at 547 Long Point Rd. in Mount Pleasant.

Bastille booze: Charlestonโs Smallest Bar, located between 39 Rue de Jean and Coast Bar and Grill on Hutson Alley, will serve a frozen French 75 drink exclusively on Bastille Day, July 14. The special cocktail is presented in partnership with 39 Rue de Jean to celebrate Rueโs 25th anniversary and Bastille Day. The drink is a frozen gin cocktail with lemon and simple syrup, topped with prosecco.

Red sauce rager: Renzo will host its annual red sauce week from July 28 to Aug. 1. The special, weeklong menu will be pasta heavy and focus on classic Italian-American cuisine. House wines will be available by the half or full carafe, and there will also be a special martini menu. Reservations are not required but strongly encouraged.
