The Tin Roof announced its holiday band schedule this week, and there are some notable acts on the list.
On Thurs. Dec. 23, Action City Blackout will reunite on the stage with a supporting set from the excitable and wound-up Shaniqua Brown. The sneery, riffy Action City Blackout splits its time between New York City and Charleston. Lead singer Emily Richardsโ former Skintight bandmates Jack Hunter (the โSouthern Avengerโ himself) and Collin Debruhl are the double-guitar machine at the frontline.
On Sun. Dec. 26, several bands will congregate to celebrate Boxing Day (a bank and public holiday celebrated in Canada and various countries around the world) as a Benefit for My Sisterโs House. Sick, Tyte, Click, M-Tank, Sleepy Eye Giant, and the Royal Tinfoil are on the bill.
The rambunctious and foot-stompinโ Shake It Like a Caveman (a.k.a. Blake Burris) brings his rickety drum kits and amplifiers to the Roof on Wed. Dec. 29. His repetitive four-on-the-the-floor bass drum beats are infectious.

- Dexter Romweber Duo
The Dexter Romweber Duo โ singer/guitarist Dexter Romweber (ex-Flat Duo Jets) and drummer Sara Romweber (ex-Letโs Active, Snatches of Pink) โ rocked out like crazy at this venue back in September. They return on Thurs. Dec. 30 with a set of cool, swinginโ cuts from their recent album Ruins of Berlin, and, hopefully, a rendition of the theme to the film Brazil (โAquarela do Brasilโ by Ary Barroso).
The Tin Roofโs notorious New Yearโs Prom Party features Charleston rock/metal bar band Danteโs Camaro, a highly amplified quintet featuring members of Action City Blackout. Lead singer Ben Dante asks, โWhy ring in 2011 partying with anything less than greatness?โ The venue presents things as a prom-styled event with a costume contest and prizes and giveaways.
New Yearโs Day finds the gypsy-groovy Megan Jean and the KFB sharing the bill with Rachel Kate Gillon (of the Shaniqua Brown), Sarah Bandy, and Vikki Matsis as part of the Donโt Stop ’til You Get Enough Party.
