Iโm the type of guy that ends nearly every sentence that comes out of my mouth with a โbut.โ
Sometimes I have something else to say, like โGame of Thrones is good show, but, man, it is so fucking slow. Seriously, give us more bloodshed and more boobies, not this melodramatic soap opera bullshit.โ
Other times, the โbutโ is a bad habit, a word that is tacked onto the end of a sentence like the disappointing below-age average bastard child of an exclamation point and a question mark: โThe new bike lanes on NoMo Drive are pretty sweet, but…..โ And it goes no where.
Ultimately, I just follow it up with something entirely unrelated. Like today, it would be, โSo, Coach and Ozzy are returning to Survivor. That should be cool. Man, I canโt wait for fall to get here. God, I miss football. I hope Clemson is good this year. After that Auburn game, Kyle Parker just quit. Fucking Pony Boy.โ
Which is why President Barack Obamaโs most recent statement on the NLRB suit against Boeing and their North Charleston Dreamliner plant is so interesting.
On the one hand, Obama seems to say that he supports Boeingโs decision to move to North Chuck, but on the other, he offers up one big ole but. Read this blip from the HuffPo and judge for yourself :
โWe canโt afford to have labor and management fighting all the time at a time when weโre competing against Germany and China and other countries that want to sell goods all around the world,โ Obama said in his first major news conference since March.
He added:
โWhat defies common sense would be a notion that we would be shutting down a plant or laying off workers because labor and management canโt come to a sensible agreement,โ Obama said.
Yeah, not exactly a ringing endorsement.
