TUESDAY. Madeline Dukes will lecture and give a demonstration of her work at the Meeting Place.
WEDNESDAY. Houston, we’ll have a problem if you don’t see Apollo 13 at Freshfields Village’s Starlight Cinema. Yeah, that’s right. I’m talking to you, Houston.
THURSDAY. Want free tickets to a Theatre 99 show. No, we’re not joking. (Sorry, that was a poor excuse for a comedy club pun.) They’re giving away free tickets — as long as you donate some blood to the American Red Cross. This is actually happening all week through Saturday, but we needed something to fill in Thursday.
FRIDAY. Get ideas for that dream home that you probably can’t afford at the Custom Home + Remodel Show, which has free admission on Friday. The fall arts season is starting to pick up (you’ll know when you read our Fall Arts Guide, which gets released on Wednesday). The Halsey has two major openings: From the Ground Up by Steve Johnson and White Days Unswallowed by Bob Ray. And if you’re in the mood for a good, family-friendly cry, see Movies at Mt. Pleasant Pier’s screening of Toy Story 3.
SATURDAY. Everything’s more fun with tequila. Find out for yourself at the Cuervo Mini-Games at the Avondale and downtown Mellow Mushrooms. For something completely different, belt out some holy tunes at Sacred Harp Singing.
