Rock singer Alice Cooper will make a special visit to at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park the day before he the leads his No More Mr. Nice Guy World Tour 2012 to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Mon. June 11. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Charleston RiverDogs baseball game versus the Savannah Sand Gnats game on Sun. June 10. Game time is 5:05 p.m.

โ€œWe are thrilled to have a true rock icon, Alice Cooper, as part of our fun by throwing the first pitch at Sundayโ€™s game,โ€ RiverDogs general manager Dave Echols stated in a press release today. โ€œWe encourage our fans and Aliceโ€™s fans to come to Riley Park early to witness one of the most exciting first pitches of the season.โ€

Cooperโ€™s musical career began in the late 1960s. His hits include โ€œSchoolโ€™s Out,โ€ โ€œNo More Mr. Nice Guy,โ€ โ€œElected,โ€ and โ€œIโ€™m Eighteen.โ€ Cooperโ€™s latest album, 2011โ€™s Welcome 2 My Nightmare, is a sequel to 1975โ€™s Welcome to My Nightmare. His preferred sport is golf, but heโ€™ll likely be able to handle a solid strike over the plate to kick off the baseball game on Sunday.
