As expected, there is some flooding on downtown streets after this morning’s downpour. According to a Charleston police spokesman, the roads were “pretty good” after high tide at 6 a.m. this morning, but at 12:45 p.m., there were reports of flooding in the following low-lying areas:
โข Huger St (from King Street towards Rutledge Avenue)
โข President Street near the Crosstown
โข Hagood Avenue near Fishburne Street
โข Smith Street near Morris Street
โข Keats Road near West Oak Forest Drive (West Ashley)

According to the S.C. Department of Natural Resources, the next high tide will come at 6:27 p.m. You can follow the storm’s progress via radar on the National Weather Service website.
And for Pete’s sakes, Charleston, don’t go rafting on any air mattresses this time.
